Our Services
SUNDAY 10 AM As in all Christian Science churches throughout the world, including The Mother Church in Boston, our Pastor is the Holy Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. Our sermon is comprised of Scriptural texts and correlative passages from our textbook as found in the Christian Science Quarterly. SUNDAY SCHOOL 10 AM Individuals up to the age of twenty are welcome to attend. Students are taught from the weekly Bible Lesson about God’s presence, power, and love. The Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Sermon on the Mount are taught and reviewed regularly. WEDNESDAY 7:30 PM This evening meeting consists of selected readings from the Bible and Science and Health, followed by a time where testimonies of Christian Science healing are shared by the congregation. CHILDREN’S ROOM Child care is provided for infants and young children during the Sunday service and during the Wednesday evening meeting.

A Christian Science Reading Room is a place to learn about God. The Bible, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and other Christian Science books and literature may be purchased here. Periodicals that contain testimonies of healing in Christian Science are also available to read and to purchase. Over 100 years of back-issues of The Christian Science Journal, a monthly, and the weekly Christian Science Sentinel are available to read and to study. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and the author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, established this Church to “reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing” as stated in the Church Manual. Christian Science follows Christ Jesus in healing the sick through the understanding of the truth on the basis of the First Commandment, acknowledging no power besides God.
As it says in Science and Health (S&H), “The first demand of this Science is, ‘Thou shalt have no other gods before me.’ This me is Spirit. Therefore the command means this: Thou shalt have no intelligence, no life, no substance, no truth, no love, but that which is spiritual.” (S&H 467: 3-7)
Christian Science teaches that Christ Jesus’ words, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free,” are followed with full reliance on God as applied to every physical ailment. Having faith in God alone, as Jesus did, enables his followers throughout all time to fulfill his command, “Heal the sick.” This Church was founded on the allness and the omnipotence of God, which is the inspiration behind Christ Jesus’ words: “With God all things are possible.”
Mary Baker Eddy
A devout Christian all of her life, Mrs. Eddy was healed of an injury declared fatal by the attending physician when she read one of Christ Jesus’ healings in the Bible and saw clearly that God, Spirit, is the only Life. She began healing people through this new understanding. The realization of the love of God was the means by which she saw the perfection of man.
Mrs. Eddy wrote how Christian healing was accomplished, giving a full explanation of it in Science and Health. She writes, “Christian Science destroys material beliefs through the understanding of Spirit and the thoroughness of this work determines health.” (S&H 186: 5-7; see also 171: 25) Christ Jesus’ life and his resurrection prove that the will of God is healing and salvation for all mankind, and it was Mrs. Eddy’s purpose in writing Science and Health to show that Jesus’ healings were based on a logical, unchanging Science available for all to understand and practice.
Mrs. Eddy also established The Christian Science Journal and Sentinel magazines, which in addition to containing articles about Christian Science, include testimonies of healing from people who have been healed of all types of disease and difficulty by relying on Christian Science. These testimonies bear witness to the fact that “Truth casts out error now as surely as it did...centuries ago” (S&H 495), and show that the healings in the Bible were “not supernatural, but supremely natural”(S&H xi).
